Airwoman by Zara Quentin;2016 - 4/5
Airwoman presents us with a whole new world, a new dimension. Humans with tails and wings, but they behave, most of the time, acting as humans. There is a company in Taraqan, the universe created by Zara, who deals with TRAVELERS. Travelers would be something like the army, but specialized in studying the places where they go, often they go on Earth.
The book tells the story of Jade (love that name), a girl who wants to be part of the travelers, but her mother is totally against. One day Jade will call her father to dinner, and when he enters his office finds him dead.Jade ,for being the eldest daughter is chosen as heir to the company, but what she really wants is to be part of the travelers and not run a company. Obviously she conflicts with herself, she needs to make a choice: to follow her dream or her responsibilities.
Jade has a love interest named Axel (I liked the name because it is an anagram of Alex) and he is certainly my favorite character. He has a very cool personality, at least I found it. It is not very closed, Nor very open, but it has several surprises.I just love him.
I did not expect the first death of the book to happen so fast and it would soon be Jade's father, I confess it was sad, but it was interesting to see a new ritual, a new thing for funerals, in Taraqan they do not wear black clothes, they wear red clothes at funerals.
I want to have done a cool drawing, maybe I'll do more later and post here on the blog.I would like to talk more about the book, but speaking more would give spoiler.Read it, it's a great book and sure you like it To like, especially people who are 12-18 years old, cause the book's target is the young audience, although it has adult themes such as deaths, how to deal with death etc.
I remembered Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick and Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare while reading, have a similar style and will catch you in the same way.
